Our client is seeking an experienced ETS professional to join their team as an Assistant ETS Manager. This senior role offers the opportunity to work autonomously on complex ETS projects while providing leadership and mentorship to a small team of ETS professionals.
As an Assistant ETS Manager, you'll spend at least 50% of your time delivering high-quality ETS services directly to clients, while also managing, motivating, and upskilling your team. You'll work closely with the ETS Manager and contribute to the full spectrum of carbon and ETS services including:
- ETS registration applications (P89, PP89) and CAA management
- Emissions returns and compliance functions
- Carbon due diligence and forest valuation
- Carbon flow modelling and harvest scenario analysis
- NZU brokerage services
- Client relationship management and technical advisory
Tohu me te wheako | Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate for this role will bring:
- A tertiary qualification in forestry, GIS, or a related discipline
- Minimum 6 years' experience providing ETS compliance and commercial services
- At least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Advanced proficiency in ArcPro/ArcMap for ETS mapping and eligibility assessment
- In-depth knowledge of the Climate Change Response Act 2002 and ETS regulations
- Demonstrated ability to complete all standard ETS functions autonomously (emissions returns, transfers of participation, offsetting applications, etc.)
- Strong technical forestry knowledge and understanding of NZ plantation forestry practices
- Experience with carbon flow modelling and forest valuation principles
- Excellent professional writing and reporting skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
- NZIF registered member status (or commitment to obtain and maintain)
- Experience with high-quality international voluntary carbon offset schemes desirable but not essential
