We are seeking an Office and Finance Administrator to join our dedicated team at Taupō-nui-a-Tia College. You’ll play an important part in supporting the day-to-day operations of the school, working closely with the Administration Supervisor and School Business Manager to assist both staff and students across a wide range of administrative and finance tasks.
The role is Monday to Friday (8.30AM – 4.00PM) and is term-time only, offering great work-life balance and time off during school holidays.
This opportunity offers a varied and rewarding position; ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment, can adapt to changing priorities, and enjoys being part of a collaborative team, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Your responsibilities will include drafting and distributing communications to staff, families, and the wider school community; coordinating logistics for major school events such as Prizegiving, Open Evening, and Parent Interview Days; and supporting student wellbeing and enrolment administration. On the financial side, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the student debtor system, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely reminder requests and reconciliations. You will also assist with payables for some of the school’s minor activities and budget preparation assistance depending on your experience. You’ll also provide general office support and cover reception or student services as needed.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge and experience from a previous administration/finance role.
- A strong understanding of accounts receivable is essential with some payables experience an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of the Google Suite, Xero (or equivalent) and/or any stand-alone debtor system is also advantageous.
- Previously used school management systems like KAMAR would be advantageous.
- Previous experience in front-desk or customer-facing roles is also advantageous.
