Job Overview
We're seeking a Services Engineer based in Rotorua to support our national condition monitoring programme. In this hands-on field role, you’ll deliver hydraulic health checks, site support, and reporting services across key accounts. You’ll be a key contact for our customers, ensuring consistent, value-driven preventative maintenance and supporting lubrication sales efforts.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Work alongside a small services team to conduct monitoring programmes at customer sites nationwide
- Provide high-quality hydraulic technical support, including reports and recommendations for improving performance of critical HPU’s, gearboxes, heat transfer systems, and other plant
- Support our existing customer base, Territory Managers, and lubrication sales by building strong on-site relationships with key accounts
- Prepare sample bottles for customer sites, complete paperwork after site visits, and send samples to the lab for analysis
- Take ownership of a number of customer sites for routine quarterly testing, while cross-training for backup coverage
- Report results to customers using in-house systems like the Fluid & Services Portal, including traffic light and trending insights
- Use the in-house workshop to machine one-off parts when needed for upcoming or current jobs
- Consider filter replacements and related consumables as part of ongoing service delivery
- Record activities in CRM systems and, where relevant, support the sales team with site insights and occasional client presentations
- Actively participate in H&S protocols—toolbox talks, hazard registers, JSA’s—and follow both ILS and customer requirements
- Work collaboratively across the wider ILS business and integrate your efforts with other teams to ensure mutual success
- Administration related functions of the role
Qualifications & Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in a hydraulics-focused role, ideally with system monitoring or oil analysis exposure
- A self-motivated individual who thrives both independently and as part of a tight-knit team
- A confident communicator who can clearly present technical insights to clients
- Rotorua-based (or in the greater surrounds), with availability to travel nationwide, including 4–5 overnight stays per month
- Comfortable using Microsoft tools and reporting systems (training provided)
- Ideally, a trade qualification in hydraulics or similar
