Donor Relations Lead - Rotorua
Since 1986, Rotorua Community Hospice has been a beacon of compassion in our community. As a charitable trust, they provide specialised care for individuals facing life-limiting illnesses, along with support for their families and carers. Their mission is to enrich lives through holistic, compassionate palliative care, helping people embrace every moment in ways meaningful to them. They aspire to be Rotorua's centre of excellence for Hospice palliative care, touching lives and hearts across our community.
We are seeking a Development Lead - Donor Relations to join our fundraising team on a permanent part-time basis (0.5 FTE). Reporting to the Fundraising & Marketing Manager, you'll play a key role in developing and implementing our Donor Love (Supporters Program). This new role focuses on acknowledging current donors, building new revenue-generating relationships, and developing our bequest program. You'll be a custodian and ambassador of the Hospice brand, elevating our profile across the community while helping secure the financial support needed for our vital services.
- Diploma or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in a similar fundraising or donor relations role
- Understanding of fundraising fundamentals, particularly in donor stewardship
- Experience with donor management databases (Infoodle experience preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong relationship building abilities across diverse stakeholder groups
- Passionate about Hospice care and fundraising
- Strong values and integrity in all interactions
- Self-motivated with the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
- Outcome-focused with a positive "can-do" approach
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Confidence to share and support new ideas
- Resilient in the face of challenges and setbacks
- Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Current full New Zealand driver's license
