Deciding to relocate from Sydney to Tauranga was a no-brainer for Tracy Harris and husband Robert. Wanting to buy their own home but property prices in Sydney far out of reach, they decided to focus on Tauranga, with family nearby and a similar lifestyle of beautiful beaches, and many biking and walking tracks.
Having both moved internationally before, they knew what to expect in terms of logistics, although didn’t think they would find employment before leaving Sydney.
“I was initially advised that I should wait until I had moved before looking for a job, but one recruitment agency – Talent ID – suggested we get the ball rolling before we moved.
“A month after I had my candidate interview with Talent ID, they called to say that a fantastic Executive Assistant job had come up. They were in constant contact with me and even advised which flights to get for my NZ interview – Catherine even drove me to and from the interview and showed me around Tauranga. It really was first class service.

I am now working as an Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief Executive of the Western Bay of Plenty District Council.
“Trying to get a job while working full-time in another country is tricky and time-consuming, especially given the time difference. One of the benefits was that Catherine had worked and lived overseas herself, so her personal experience was of great benefit. She is a fantastic communicator and kept me up-to-date each step of the way. “I like the work life balance my job offers and the 10-minute drive to work compared to the two hour-plus commute I had in Sydney! I love the scenery of the Bay of Plenty, it reminds me of the UK – where I’m originally from. Talent ID’s support to find the right job for me was the icing on the cake.”
